On My Mind in September
The Ebb & Flow of Creativity: Drawing autumn. Equinox, Halloween, and hygge. Pears, umbrellas, and pickles. Mushrooms, chestnuts, and walks in the park.
TV: Endeavour. A prequel to the tv-series Inspector Morse and, just like that, set primarily in Oxford.
In my Kitchen: Ribollita. A Tuscan soup of ancient origins. Ribollita literally means "re-boiled" and a night in the fridge will encourage the flavours to marry. Also Mexican Cocoa spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne.
On my Radio: Poet Rachel Long presents a guide to turning your dreams into writing, in a poetic workshop for radio. A Manual For Dreaming Womxn.
On my Balcony: Heather, cyclamen, and ivy.
On my Radar: “Sophisticated algorithms learn our emotional vulnerabilities and exploit them for profit in insidious ways.” We need to rethink social media before it's too late. We've accepted a Faustian bargain.
Weekend Projects: Laundry. Recycling. Baking the Christmas Cake.
