Creative iPhoneographer Anne Vilemsons

Anne Vilemsons Vernissage

I'm delighted to introduce Creative iPhoneographer Anne Vilemsons, a student from the first Creative iPhoneography Course who just has had her first iPhoneography art show!

Hello Anne, can you tell us how you come up with the idea for your art show?

When I decided to take this course my ambition was practical – I wanted to learn to use my new iPhone. Quite soon something great and unexpected happened though. When my fellow classmates and Kate gave me feedback on my images - I felt proud, happy and like I had something important to tell through my images. I noticed how long ago it was since I just had fun without any other means than having fun. The art show is a celebration to you Kate, my classmates and the happy artist in me that woke up through this Creative iPhoneography Course.

How do you feel when you're making iPhoneography images?

When I make iPhoneography images the result often amazes me. All these beautiful special effects the Apps can add. I also like that it´s so easy to start up the projects and to end them – save to camera roll and then put the iPhone back in my pocket.

What kind of reactions did you get at your vernissage? How did people respond?

After I had showed my images people started to take photos of their own and asked me which apps to download and how to use them. It was really fun and surprised me. It´s clear that my friends also need more creative activities in their lives.

What are the next steps for your Creative iPhoneography? Are there any particular projects you'd like to focus on next?

My next steps in my Creative iPhoneography will be to learn the apps better and to finish some of the exercises that I didn´t have time to finish during the course. I also want to gather some friends in a creative iPhoneography evening. In the future I hope to meet my fellow students in a new course.

What is your creative advice to others who are inspired but don't know where to start?

Dare to ask for help and be brave.

Anne, thank you so much for this interview! You are such an inspiration, your enthusiasm and talent so infectious! I'm so honoured that you created this art show as a celebration to me, your classmates and the happy artist inside you!
